Glancing Back: 2009 with Rick Turoczy

I love recording every episode of Strange Love Live. There’s something magical about sitting in my chair on a Friday night and getting the chance to pick someones brain. Learn something. Garner some knowledge that I wouldn’t other wise have access to. That being said, not all episodes are equal. There are a few times that I get a little extra spring in my step just before show time.
Our January 1st episode with Rick Turoczy of Silicon Florist was just one such occasion.
We at Strange Love Live are honored to work with Rick on a regular basis and through the last year he’s become a friend, not just of the show, but of ours as well. We planned to have him join us for a year end recap months ago. Before we began recording memePDX with him and long before he and I conspired to create 30 Hour Day.
My point is, when we asked him to make a tradition of his year end recap with us, we were thinking that would be that. He’d come do the show, share an overview of 2009, make a few predictions for 2010 and we would call it a night. We didn’t think that the first 45 minutes of the show would, for us, take second stage to the announcements that we made in the last 15 minutes of this episode.
